Currently the audiovisual archive of CVA has the largest Russian collection of Visual Anthropological films that reflect cultures of all continents and also the various aspects of the Russian peoples’ (predominantly Old Believers) traditional life during the past 20 years.
This information is constantly used by researchers, students and professors from the Moscow University and other Moscow, regional and foreign cultural, educational and academic organisations. Evidently, this usage should become more intensive and systematic. Further we need to transform our archive into the information exchange network based on the communication opportunities of the Internet and satellite TV.
The most acute problem concerns saving and preserving early materials (late 1980s).
